Being the best engineering college, SMVEC has come up with its research and development center to help aspiring students. The Main aim of the research development is to promote research activities in the college among the students in the newly emerged and the challenging fields and areas of Engineering, The main backbone of academics are considered to be the science and Humanities. This helps to transfer the new ideas into innovations which will be the passion for researches. Every new research leads to the new findings that will be the enthusiasm towards achieving target.

This encourages and creates the students and faculty motivates them to do research in newly emerging fields of engineering, technology, science and humanities. This will help to enhance and have a deep thought of general research capability of building more researchers and motivating them to participate in conferences, workshops, project competition, etc

Responsibilities

To build the research atmosphere in every department and also create awareness and make opportunities in research and development for the students and faculty
To help the ph.D’s scholar and faculty by helping to take the research projects and improve their knowledge and creating interest for new research and development
To motivate the research groups which has faculty member for their R&D activates in their interested and specialized areas.
To encourage faculties and students to publish technical papers which will be publishing in National and reputed international Conference/Journals
To help the students and faculties and development projects offered by agencies such as ISRO, DRDO, CSIR, DST, AICTE, UGC, INFOSYS,L&T etc.
To Guide the students to apply funding for the research projects under student project

Scheme to different funding agencies like IEI (I), DRDO.

To assist and helps the students to raise the funds for conducting seminar/workshop from various funding agencies
To help to maintain the current and right information about the research areas and what initiatives and taken by the government , and also to know about the info of funding agencies and funding opportunities
To function with various departments to establish and develop faculty research priorities on other disciplinary areas.
To coordinate faculty level workshops and staff development activities on research-related issues.

Wide increase in number of research proposals, quality publications and patents

Creating and Enhance interaction with R&D organizations and institutes

Creating Awareness in students about recent advances and developments in science, engineering and technology

Making faculty and students’ involvement to solve industrial and societal problems

Making and Enhance the students to participation of students in national and international innovation activities like India Innovation Challenge Design Contest, NES Innovation Awards, Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI)-SRISTI, L&T Techgium, Smart India Hackthon, Unisys, cloud 20-20, Infra mind, EnginX, Code vita ,ISTE, Testimony, TCS innovate, India Science Festival, Yes Bank etc.,
