Introduction

The MCA program at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College focuses on providing students with a sound foundation in computing, business operations, and new trends in information technology. The department has a team of experienced and dedicated staff who are committed to helping students succeed.

The program offers a variety of courses that cover the latest technologies in software development, database management, networking, and web development. Students also have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities such as journal publications, paper presentations, and technical events.

The department’s goal is to help students develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the IT industry. The department also provides placement assistance to help students find jobs after graduation.

Eligibility for MCA [Revised by AICTE, Approval Process Handbook 2024-25 to 2026-27]

Passed any graduation degree (e.g.: B.E. / B.Tech./ B.Sc / B.Com. / B.A./ B. Voc./ BCA etc.,) preferably with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduation level Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying examination.

(for students having no Mathematics background compulsory bridge course will be framed by the respective University/ Institution and additional bridge courses related to computer subjects as per the norms of the concerned University).

P01. Mathematical Computation knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, computing fundamentals to the solution of complex application oriented problems.

P02. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze logical oriented problems to arrive at substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics and natural sciences.

P03. Design/development of solutions: Design, Develop and evaluate efficient software solutions for complex problems in various domain like Animation, Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and methodologies, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex computational activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6. The Social responsibilities: Understand and follow the responsibilities and consequences based on societal, environment, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional computational practice.

PO7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional Computing solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge and need for sustainable development.
