Functions of the Committee: Some of the functions of the IQAC are:

• Development, implementation and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution
• Create a learner-centric environment conducive for an efficient and effective Teaching Learning Process.
• Conduct regular feedback sessions and collect responses from parents, students and other stakeholders on quality related institutional processes and act on the same.
• Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education.
• Organization of national and international conferences, workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles.
• Development and maintenance of an exhaustive database about the institution that aids in quality sustenance.
• Build an organized methodology of documentation and internal communication.
• Documentation of the various programmes and activities leading to quality improvement.
• Acting as a nodal agency of the institution for quality-related activities including adoption and implementation of best practices.
• Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to be submitted to NAAC based on the quality parameters.

• The Committee will cover all academic aspects such as interpretation of the syllabus, completion of the syllabus, performance in theory and practicals, group discussions, seminars, Infrastructure adequacy, laboratories, Sports facilities, library and ICT facilities etc.
• The Director cum Principal may include any other related academic matter for audit in the terms of reference, which he feels desirable.
• The Committee should submit a report to the Director cum Principal within the specified time.

Term: The term of the Training and Placement Cell shall be two years.

Meetings: The Training and Placement Cell shall meet at least 15 days once Functions of the Committee:

• To develop the students technical knowledge and soft skills to meet requirements the corporate recruitment process.
• To motivate students to develop their overall personality in terms of career planning, goal setting and re-skilling which will take them to good stead even after getting the job.
• To motivate students to aspire for higher studies and guiding them to take competitive exams such as CAT, GATE, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT and
• To place the maximum number of students in top-notch companies through campus & off-campus interviews.
• To conduct Aptitude test, Group discussions, Mock Interviews and Technical Tests periodically. Guidance is also offered for pursuing higher studies.
• To achieve 100 % Placements for Eligible Students.

Term: The term of the R&D Cell shall be two years.

Meetings: The R&D Cell shall meet at least 15 days once Functions of the Committee:

• To create awareness and opportunities in Research and Development among the students & faculty and cultivate research culture in every department
• To create interest and atmosphere among the staff members to take up Research projects and improve their knowledge, skills and qualifications by registering Ph. D’s
• To motivate the faculty members to involve in R&D activities in the area of their specialization
• To encourage staff members and students to publish technical papers in National and reputed International Conferences/Journals
• To encourage faculty members of all the disciplines in Engineering/Science /Humanities/Management in R&D activities for their professional growth
• To undertake research activities and development projects offered by agencies such as ISRO, DRDO, CSIR, DST, AICTE, UGC, etc.
• To assist the students to apply funding for conducting research and startups under student project scheme to various funding agencies like MSME, IEI (I), DRDO, TCS, Infosys etc.
• To assist for applying and getting funds for conducting Seminar/Workshop/FDP from various funding agencies
• To facilitate the growth of research activity among the academic community, including developing mechanisms and fixing targets to achieve the same.
• To develop and coordinate strategies for maximizing the faculty’s success in gaining external research funding.
• To maintain and disseminate current information about relevant research policy areas and initiatives in government, in the professions and in relevant industries, including external funding opportunities
• To develop strategies to foster research collaborations within the faculty, across faculty and institutes, and with agencies outside the college
• To work with various departments to establish and develop faculty research priorities on interdisciplinary areas
• To interact with industry, government and the wider community on all research matters to promote faculty research activities to external stakeholders
• To coordinate faculty level workshops and staff development activities on research-related issues
• To encourage development of activities to attract the best research oriented higher degree students
• To maintain effective links with government departments, authorities, business, and commerce and industry organizations relevant to the college research activities

Term: Term of the Entrepreneurship Development Cell shall be two years.

Meetings: The Entrepreneurship Development Cell shall meet at least 15 days once Functions of the Committee:

• To organize Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps, Entrepreneurship Development Programmes and Faculty Development Programmes.
• To develop and introduce curriculum on Entrepreneurship Development at various levels including degree/diploma courses
• To conduct research work and survey for identifying entrepreneurial opportunities (particularly in Science &Technology and Service sector).
• To guide and assist prospective entrepreneurs on various aspects such as preparing project reports, obtaining project approvals, loans and facilities from agencies of support systems and information on various technologies
• To organize guest lectures, Seminars, etc. for promotion and growth of entrepreneurship.
• To arrange visits to industries for prospective entrepreneurs
• To extend necessary guidance and escort services to the trainees in obtaining approval and execution of their projects.
• To act as a Regional Information Centre on business opportunities, processes, technologies, market, etc. by creating and maintaining relevant databases.
• To provide testing, calibration, quality assurance, design, tool room, pilot plant and other facilities for Entrepreneurs besides expertise in Intellectual Property rights, Patents search, etc.
• To render advice to sick enterprises and assist the entrepreneurs in rehabilitating them.
• To conduct skill development training programmes leading to self/wage employment.

Term: The term of the Minority Cell shall be two years.

Meetings: The Minority Cell shall meet at least twice in a semester  Functions of the Committee:

• Schedule and post all committee meetings
• To organize committee meeting once in a month
• Monitor and recommend a path forward the student for getting knowledge about minority cell.
• Framing New benefited policy for minority students
• Educating the students to gain the benefits from the Government sectors through college
• Helps students and faculty belonging to minority background.

Term: Term of the SC/ST Cell shall be two years.

Meetings: The SC/ST Cell shall meet at least twice in a semester Functions of the Committee:

• To counsel and guide SC, ST and Minority students studying at SMVEC on various issues and help them to manage academic and personal demands of a college life effectively.
• To ensure provisions for an environment where all such students feel safe and secure.
• To provide prompt counseling for any emotional emergencies arising on account of any events at the campus.
• To provide a mechanism to redress the grievances of SC, ST and minority students if any
• To ensure protection and reservation as provided in the constitution of India
• To arrange for special opportunities to enhance the career growth of these students through Competitive Examination.
• To schedule lab session exclusively for English language enrichment to facilitate their career skills.

• Theprovisionofopportunitiesandprograms forfemale gendertobe financially,mentally and emotionally empowered so as to promote their growth as individuals intheir own right
• Conduct seminar, workshop to impart knowledge of opportunities and tools availableand trainthewomen
• Inculcateentrepreneurialattitudeamongyounggirls,attheearliestsothattheycanbe“jobgivers” ratherthan“job seekers”

• To organize various seminars and events to bring awareness about higher education and opportunities available both nationally and internationally
• To give necessary training to the students on various competitive exams.
• To encourage the students to appear for various International standardized test to pursue their higher studies
