Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College is an autonomous institution approved by UGC and affiliated to Pondicherry University. The college was established in the year 1999 by Sri Manakula Vinayaga Educational Trust with a vision to offer quality and affordable technical education to the weaker sections of the society. Our institution has obtained autonomous status in the year 2019 and commemorated its silver jubilee in the field of educational excellence. At the apex of its standardisation, the institute has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ Grade for two consecutive cycles.
To add an additional feather to the crown of SMVEC, the B.Tech Programs namely EEE, ECE, CSE, IT, Mechanical, Civil, and ICE are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. Besides the institute is also accredited by a global multinational company TCS.

Dr. S. Jayakumar serves as Controller of Examinations at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College, entrusted with overseeing and strengthening the institution’s comprehensive examination and academic evaluation system.
He leads the planning, coordination and execution of all major examination activities — from the conduct of internal and end-semester examinations through question paper management, valuation, results processing, publication of results and issuance of academic credentials. Across every stage, he ensures processes are carried out with the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, transparency, accuracy and fairness.
His focus is on building efficient, student-centric examination practices supported by technology and digital solutions, directed towards timely publication of results, systematic maintenance of academic records and continuous improvement of procedures.
