About the Department
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, which began in 1999 with 60 students, has grown substantially at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College. It now takes 300 students per year and is supported by over 50 experienced faculty members. The department provides B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering, M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Big Data Analytics), and Ph.D. courses. It offers a comprehensive curriculum that blends theoretical understanding with hands-on experience, including essential ideas, programming languages, algorithms, data structures, and system architecture.

Cutting-edge laboratories outfitted with current computing infrastructure enable hands-on learning and foster a culture of exploration, critical thinking, and inquiry. Achievements
Our department's students earned outstanding achievement in a variety of fields during the "ICON" event on October 25, 2023. BARANI, a second-year student, won first place in CODE DEBUGGING, exhibiting excellent proficiency and receiving a $1200 cash award. Additionally, Dhinesh Saravanan and Sharath won first place in MOBILE APP DEVELOPMENT, demonstrating their ingenuity and winning an 800 cash award.
