Choco Fiesta 2025: A Sweet Celebration

World Chocolate Day at SMVEC was more than just a celebration — it was a delicious journey into the world of creativity, teamwork, and chocolate-infused inspiration. The air on campus buzzed with excitement, joy, and the unmistakable aroma of cocoa, as students and faculty came together for a truly unforgettable event: The No Fire Choco Fiesta.

A Grand Welcome: Setting the Stage for a Chocolatey Celebration

The festivities began with vibrant energy as students gathered in the auditorium, their cheerful chatter and laughter creating an atmosphere filled with anticipation. The excitement was palpable, the result of weeks of meticulous planning and enthusiastic preparation.

The spotlight soon shifted to the entrance, where our esteemed Chief Guest was warmly received. A heartfelt welcome and ceremonial honoring marked the perfect beginning to a day that promised to be both sweet and sensational.

Inspiring Words: A Joyful Kickstart

Before the first chocolate creation took shape, the audience was treated to an inspiring address by Shri. D. Rajarajan, Treasurer of SMV Trust. With warmth and encouragement, he emphasized the importance of creativity, active participation, and collaborative spirit in such events.

His uplifting words reminded students that education isn’t confined to classrooms — it’s also about exploration, expression, and experimentation. This motivational moment infused the entire auditorium with a sense of purpose, setting the perfect tone for what was to follow.

No Fire Choco Fiesta: A Culinary Canvas of Chocolate Dreams

With the official start signalled, 263 teams from across various departments jumped into action, each team ready to craft their fireless chocolate masterpiece.

The creativity on display was nothing short of spectacular. From velvety chocolate truffles to playful Oreo bread cakes and artistic no-bake desserts, participants showcased their talent not just in taste but also in presentation, hygiene, and innovation.

More than just a competition, the No Fire Choco Fiesta was a powerful celebration of culinary imagination and teamwork. The event promoted sustainable, safe cooking practices while allowing students to shine through their chocolate artistry.

From 263 to 20: Honoring the Best of the Best

The internal panel of judges, comprising faculty and culinary advisors, had the challenging task of selecting the Top 20 Teams from the impressive 263 entries. Each dish was judged on multiple parameters including taste, creativity, plating, and adherence to the fireless theme.

When the top 20 were announced, the auditorium erupted with applause — not just in celebration, but in recognition of the hard work, innovative thinking, and dedication displayed by all teams. These top 20 were more than just contestants — they became trailblazers, proving that boundaries in cooking are meant to be broken.

Final Verdict by Culinary Experts: Crowning the Top 5 Champions

In the final round, the spotlight turned to an esteemed panel of external judges, invited specially to bring professional culinary insight into the judging process. These experts were tasked with selecting the Top 5 Teams from the shortlist.

The external judges brought a fresh perspective, evaluating each team’s dish with precision, passion, and professional expertise. Their thoughtful deliberation culminated in the announcement of the Top 5 Winners — the crème de la crème of the No Fire Choco Fiesta.

Prize Distribution: A Moment of Sweet Victory

The prize distribution ceremony was the cherry on top of this spectacular event. The top 5 teams were called on stage amidst loud cheers and applause. They received trophies, certificates, and gift hampers, all symbols of recognition for their creativity, innovation, and excellence.

What made the ceremony even more special was the genuine appreciation expressed by the external judges. Their kind feedback and encouragement turned the entire event into a rich learning experience for all participants, inspiring many to continue their creative culinary journey.

A Celebration of More Than Just Chocolate

The No Fire Choco Fiesta was more than a competition — it was a celebration of learning, creativity, collaboration, and joy. It proved that even without fire, students can ignite imagination and create wonders with just passion and a pinch of cocoa.
