The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2008, offering a PG course since 2013 and a Ph.D. program since 2016. Accredited by the NBA, it features modern infrastructure, state-of-the-art laboratories, and dedicated faculty. Our expertise spans product design, composite materials, nanotechnology, thermal and energy engineering, and manufacturing technology, supporting academic excellence and industry standards.

Fluid Mechanics and Machinery Laboratory
This laboratory at SMVEC’s Mechanical Engineering department focuses on hands-on instruction in fluid mechanics and hydraulic machinery. It includes crucial equipment, including venturi metres, orifice metres, notches, weirs, and numerous pump configurations. These resources provide students with practical insights into the operation and principles of flow measurement and hydraulic machinery.
