Introduction
To commemorate World Youth Skills Day 2026, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College, Puducherry, organized a series of skill-oriented competitions aimed at empowering students with practical knowledge, technical expertise, creativity, and innovation. The competitions were conducted across multiple venues in the University Block, providing participants with a professional environment to demonstrate their talents and enhance their competencies.
CAD Modelling
The CAD Modelling competition was conducted at the Idea Lab.Participants showcased their engineering design skills by creating accurate 2D and 3D models using computer-aided design software. The competition focused on creativity, precision, and technical proficiency while encouraging students to apply engineering concepts to practical design challenges.
Technical Quiz
The Technical Quizwas organized at the Mechanical Seminar Hall. Students from various disciplines enthusiastically participated in the quiz, which assessed their technical knowledge, logical reasoning, current technological awareness, and problem-solving abilities. The competition encouraged healthy academic competition and quick decision-making.
Poster Presentation on Social Problem Solving
The Poster Presentation on Social Problem Solving was conducted in the Department Library, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Circuit Debugging
The Circuit Debugging competition took place in the Networking Laboratory. Participants were challenged to identify, analyse, and rectify faults in electronic circuits within the stipulated time. The Coding Contest was held in the Placement Seminar Hall.
