Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College (SMVEC), Puducherry, commemorated International Womens Day Celebration 2025 with a vibrant celebration on March 8, 2025. The lamp-lighting ceremony marked the commencement of the Women’s Day event, setting a tone of reverence and inspiration. Welcome Dance:

The program commenced with a captivating welcome dance performed by the talented students of the institution. This opening act set a vibrant and respectful tone for the day’s events, embodying the spirit of the occasion.

Welcome Address:

Dr. S. Anbumalar, Dean of Academics, delivered an inspiring welcome address that set the tone for the event in her speech, she extended a heartfelt welcome to the Chief Guest, Dr. Krithiga Ravichandran, Artistic Director of IGCAS, Puducherry, and the Special Guest, Dr. A. Bharathy, Assistant Professor at Pondicherry University. She emphasized the significance of International Women’s Day as a moment to honor the achievements of women and to reflect on the ongoing journey towards gender equality.

Keynote Address:

The event was graced by the presence of Dr. K. Narayanasamy, Secretary of the Sri Manakula Vinayagar Trust, who delivered an inspiring keynote address that resonated deeply with the audience. In his address he highlighted the remarkable achievements of women across various domains, emphasizing their pivotal role in shaping a progressive society. He acknowledged the strides made by women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and underscored the importance of providing equal opportunities for women to excel in these fields.

Special Guest Address:
