Win Your Weakness – Motivational Programme

Introduction


Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College (SMVEC) organized a three-day motivational programme titled “Win Your Weakness” for the First-Year School of Engineering students on 22nd, 24th and 25th September 2026. The programme was conducted with the objective of inspiring students to overcome their fears, build self-confidence, develop a positive mindset and recognize their inner potential. The sessions were led by Dr. I. Jegan, Motivational Speaker and CEO, Win Your Weakness Motivational Academy, who engaged the students through inspiring interactions, practical life lessons, motivational talks, fun-filled activities and student-centric games.

Welcome Address


The programme commenced with the Welcome Address delivered by Dr. K. Velmurugan, Dean – Research, SMVEC. He warmly welcomed the motivational speaker, dignitaries, faculty members and students and highlighted the importance of developing confidence and a positive approach during the early stages of an engineering journey. He encouraged the students to actively participate in the session and make use of the valuable insights shared by the resource person.

Honouring of Dr. I. Jegan


As part of the programme, Dr. I. Jegan was honoured by SMVEC in recognition of his presence and contribution towards motivating and inspiring the student community. The felicitation reflected the institution’s appreciation for his efforts in guiding young minds towards personal growth and self-development.

Honouring Of Dr. K. Velmurugan


Dr. K. Velmurugan, Dean – Research, was honoured by Dr. I. Jegan in recognition of his academic achievements and contributions to the institution. The moment served as a gesture of appreciation for his commitment to academic excellence and his continued support towards student development.

A student introduced Dr. I. Jegan to the gathering, highlighting his professional journey, achievements and contribution towards motivating and empowering students. The introduction created an opportunity for students to become familiar with the resource person before the commencement of the main motivational session.

Smiley Ball Activity


An exciting Smiley Ball activity was conducted as part of the programme. The dignitaries on the stage threw smiley balls to students based on luck, creating a cheerful and energetic atmosphere. The activity encouraged students to participate actively, interact freely and enjoy the programme beyond the conventional classroom environment.4

Motivational Session – Win Your Weakness


The major highlight of Day 1 was the energetic motivational session delivered by Dr. I. Jegan. The session focused on the central message of “Win Your Weakness”, encouraging students to recognize that weaknesses and challenges can be overcome through self-belief, consistent effort and a positive mindset.

Through relatable stories, engaging conversations and practical examples, Dr. I. Jegan encouraged students to:

Student Games and Recognition


Various interactive games and motivational activities were conducted for the students. These activities encouraged teamwork, confidence, spontaneity and active participation. Students enthusiastically participated in the games, and their efforts and involvement were recognized and appreciated during the session.

Dr. R. Raju, Head of the Department of Information Technology, was honoured by Dr. I. Jegan in recognition of his academic achievements and contributions to education. The felicitation reflected appreciation for his continued commitment towards academic development and student growth.

The Day 3 session commenced with the Welcome Address and Guest Introduction delivered by Dr. A. A. Arivalagar, Dean – Academics, SMVEC. He warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members and students and introduced Dr. I. Jegan, Motivational Speaker and CEO, Win Your Weakness Motivational Academy, to the gathering. He highlighted the significance of the “Win Your Weakness” motivational programme in helping First-Year students develop self-confidence, overcome their limitations and approach their academic journey with a positive and determined mindset.

Address by Dr. P. Raja


Dr. Raja. P, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, addressed the gathering and shared valuable thoughts with the students. He emphasized the importance of discipline, academic commitment, confidence and continuous self-improvement. He encouraged students to utilize the opportunities available to them and build a strong foundation for their future careers.
