Welcome Address

The Welcome address was delivered by Dr. V.S.K. Venkatachalapathy Director cum Principal. In his address, he emphasized how quantum computing accelerates data processing, enabling AI models to learn faster, make accurate predictions, and optimize complex systems across sectors such as healthcare, logistics, and finance. He noted that the future of technology lies in combining AI’s learning capabilities with the power of quantum computing, creating smarter solutions for modern challenges. He extended a warm welcome to the management team, highlighting their vision in promoting futuristic academic initiatives, and affirmed that the series is designed to keep everyone aligned with global technological trends. He also welcomed all staff and students, and concluded with an inspiring quote: “Every great institution stands tall because of wisdom.”

Felicitation address

The Felicitation address was given by Shri. D. Rajarajan, Treasurer of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Educational Trust (SMVET). in his he highlighted the motivation behind launching the Video Lecture Series, noting that while world-class expert insights—from leaders like Sundar Pichai to Aravind Srinivas—are widely available online, they are not easily accessible to students. This series aims to bridge that gap by providing weekly interactive expert talks, allowing students to ask questions and engage with each other. The first video, suggested by the chairman, will be in Tamil, followed by topics such as AI and Quantum Computing. The speaker emphasized how AI has become deeply integrated into daily life, from content recommendations to tools like Google’s latest innovations, and stressed the importance of staying updated with rapidly evolving technology. The series is intended to raise awareness and provide students with hands-on exposure to groundbreaking advancements in the field.

Before diving into the video lecture series, He wanted to add one more interesting element to capture the imagination of our audience.

Mojo – SMVEC’s First Futuristic Campus Pet

In a unique and exciting moment during the video lecture series, He introduced Mojo to the staffs and the students, SMVEC s first futuristic campus pet. Mojo instantly captured everyone’s attention with its interactive and lively presence.

During the session, a few simple instructions were given to Mojo to demonstrate its capabilities. When asked to say “Hi,” Mojo responded with a cheerful greeting. Later, when prompted to jump, Mojo energetically leaped, and finally, when asked to dance, it showcased an impressive performance that brought smiles to everyone watching.

The entire interaction was not only fun but also showcased how technology can be engaging and purposeful at the same time. More importantly, it served as an inspiration to students — motivating them to explore, innovate, and take up similar creative projects in the future.

Mojo’s introduction set the tone for the event, reminding everyone that SMVEC is moving towards a future where technology and creativity go hand in hand.

Presidential address:

The Presidential Address was delivered by Shri. M. Dhanasekaran, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Educational Trust (SMVET).  During his speech He shared that the inspiration for the lecture series came from student feedback and global technology leaders like Arvind Srinivas, Satya Nadella, Google, and NVIDIA, who emphasized the future of innovation. He highlighted the value of focused learning environments like the auditorium, where discussions can spark big ideas from small thoughts. Stressing that learning is a continuous process, he encouraged students to dedicate time to knowledge-sharing just as they would for entertainment. Most importantly, he announced financial support of ₹2–10 lakhs for promising student projects, aiming to transform innovative ideas into start-ups and nurture a culture of research, incubation, and entrepreneurship at SMVEC, reminding students that true impact lies in how we use and contribute to technology.

Video Lecture Session

The video lecture featured an insightful conversation between Mr. Ganesh Radhakrishnan (CEO, Fekki.io; Technology Advisor to global giants such as World Bank, Johnson & Johnson, Rolls Royce UK, and Canadian Pacific Railways; Former Vice President at Hewlett Packard, Geneva) and Mr. Gobinath Chandran.

The session covered a wide range of futuristic topics, including:

  • Is AI already outdated? – Emerging limitations of current AI systems.
  • The Next Frontier – AGI (Artificial General Intelligence), ASI (Artificial Super Intelligence), and OI (Organ-Aid Intelligence).
  • Future of AI Models – Rise of Small Language Models (SLMs), Agentic AI, and their impact.
  • Cybersecurity Challenges – WORMs, jailbroken LLMs, and quantum threats to cryptography.
  • Quantum Computing – Its unmatched power, speed, and potential to reshape industries.
