Introduction
NIRMANIKA 2026, a National Level Technical Symposium, was successfully organized at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College (SMVEC), Puducherry, by the Department of Civil Engineering in association with the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India), Puducherry Centre. The symposium served as a dynamic platform for students, academicians, and industry professionals to share knowledge and explore emerging trends in civil engineering.
Tamil Thai Vazhthu & SMVEC Anthem
Tamil Thai Vazhthu was rendered with respect, honouring Tamil culture and creating a sense of unity among the audience. This was followed by the SMVEC Anthem, which instilled pride and reflected the values of the institution, energizing everyone for the sessions ahead.
Welcome Address
The welcome address was delivered by Dr. S. Sundararaman, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, who warmly greeted the dignitaries, guests, and participants. Technical Session I on “Smart Geosynthetics for Sustainable Ground Engineering” was delivered by Dr. P. T. Ravichandran, Professor and Head, SRM Institute of Science and Technology. Technical Session II
Technical Session II was delivered by Er. D. Murugan, focusing on practical challenges in construction, structural design, and project management.
