NIRMANIKA 2026 – A National Level Technical Symposium

Introduction


NIRMANIKA 2026, a National Level Technical Symposium, was successfully organized at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College (SMVEC), Puducherry, by the Department of Civil Engineering in association with the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India), Puducherry Centre. The symposium served as a dynamic platform for students, academicians, and industry professionals to share knowledge and explore emerging trends in civil engineering.

Tamil Thai Vazhthu & SMVEC Anthem


Tamil Thai Vazhthu was rendered with respect, honouring Tamil culture and creating a sense of unity among the audience. This was followed by the SMVEC Anthem, which instilled pride and reflected the values of the institution, energizing everyone for the sessions ahead.

Welcome Address


The welcome address was delivered by Dr. S. Sundararaman, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, who warmly greeted the dignitaries, guests, and participants. He emphasized the importance of technical symposiums like NIRMANIKA and encouraged students to actively participate and enhance their knowledge.

Honouring the Guests

Technical Session I


Technical Session I on “Smart Geosynthetics for Sustainable Ground Engineering” was delivered by Dr. P. T. Ravichandran, Professor and Head, SRM Institute of Science and Technology. The session provided valuable insights into the applications of Geosynthetics, soil stabilization techniques, and sustainable construction practices, enriching the participants with practical and industry-relevant knowledge.

Technical Session II


Technical Session II was delivered by Er. D. Murugan, focusing on practical challenges in construction, structural design, and project management. The session highlighted real-time issues faced in the field and provided effective solutions based on industry experience. Distribution of Prizes
