The Department of Civil Engineering, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College (SMVEC), in association with the Indian Plumbing Association, successfully organized a Guest Lecture on the topic “Quality Control and Assurance in Construction” on 27th December 2025 (Saturday). The program was conducted for the benefit of second and third year Civil Engineering students with the objective of enhancing their understanding of quality management practices followed in the construction industry. The session was held at the Engineering Block Seminar Hall (3rd Floor) and commenced at 03:00 PM.
The guest lecture was delivered by Er. A. Madura Muthu, Managing Director, M.A. Construction, Villupuram, who has vast practical experience in the construction field. He began the session by emphasizing the importance of quality in construction projects and explained how Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) play a crucial role in ensuring safety, durability, and sustainability of structures.
