21st Graduation Day 2026 – A Moment of Pride and Achievement


The 21st Graduation Day Ceremony was held with great enthusiasm and pride. The event marked a significant milestone for the graduating students as they received their degree certificates and medals in recognition of their academic accomplishments. The ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries from academia, industry, and the institution’s management.

Assemblage of Dignitaries


The ceremony commenced with the assemblage of dignitaries in the Chairman’s Chamber. The Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Management Members, Director cum Principal, Controller of Examinations, Deans, and Heads of Departments gathered wearing academic robes, symbolizing the tradition and dignity of the graduation ceremony.

Academic Procession


The formal Academic Procession commenced with great dignity and discipline, marking the ceremonial beginning of the graduation event. The procession included the Heads of Departments, Deans, Controller of Examinations, Director cum Principal, Guest of Honour, Management Members, and the Chief Guest, who entered in sequence wearing academic robes.

Lighting of Kuthuvilakku


The ceremony began auspiciously with the lighting of the Kuthuvilakku, symbolizing the removal of darkness and the spread of knowledge.

Thamizh Thai Vazhthu, SMVEC Anthem and Audio Visual Presentation


The ceremony continued with Thamizh Thai Vazhthu, paying tribute to the richness of the Tamil language and culture, followed by the SMVEC Anthem, which instilled a deep sense of pride and belonging among the gathering. This was followed by an Audio Visual (AV) presentation that showcased the institution’s achievements, milestones, academic excellence, and the remarkable journey of growth over the years.

Welcome Address and Annual Report

The ceremony commenced with the Welcome Address delivered by Dr. V.S.K. Venkatachalapathy, Director cum Principal, who warmly greeted the distinguished gathering and highlighted the significance of the occasion. He welcomed the chief guest, guest of honour, management members, dignitaries, faculty members, parents, and graduating students present for the celebration. In his address, he congratulated the graduates on their remarkable achievements and acknowledged the support of parents and the dedication of teachers who guided them throughout their academic journey. He encouraged the graduates to step forward with confidence, curiosity, and determination as they begin the next phase of their lives.

Declaration of Graduation Ceremony

The Felicitation Address was delivered by Shri D. Rajarajan, Treasurer, who congratulated the graduates on successfully completing their academic journey. In his address, he emphasized three important aspects for success: clarity in career goals, the power of compounding through consistent daily efforts, and the effective use of emerging technologies like AI to enhance productivity. He encouraged students to continuously develop their skills and adapt to technological advancements. He also highlighted the importance of collaboration and staying connected, and invited graduates to register in the institution’s alumni portal to remain engaged with the college community and support future initiatives.

Presidential Address


The Presidential Address was delivered by Shri M. Dhanasekaran, Chairman and Managing Director, who warmly greeted the dignitaries, graduates, parents, and faculty members present at the ceremony. In his address, he encouraged the graduates to listen carefully to the insights shared by the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, emphasizing that their experiences would guide students in building successful careers. He also advised graduates to approach their work with a positive attitude, avoid unnecessary complaints, and focus on learning and growth in their professional journey. He concluded by motivating the students to remain dedicated, work sincerely, and make meaningful contributions to society.

Guest of Honour Address


The Guest of Honour Address was delivered by Mrs. Anuradha Muthuswamy, Vice President and Delivery Leader, Wipro Engineering, Wipro Limited, who shared valuable insights on the rapidly evolving technology landscape. She emphasized the importance of continuous learning, adapting to emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, and strengthening engineering fundamentals to stay relevant in today’s dynamic industry. She encouraged graduates to remain curious, embrace change, and focus on building impactful solutions that contribute to both industry and society. She concluded by congratulating the graduates and wishing them success in their professional journey.

Graduation Day Address


The Graduation Day Address was delivered by Dr. Sindhura Ganapathy, Principal Scientific Advisor Fellow, Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor, Government of India, who shared inspiring insights on the rapid technological transformations shaping the future. He encouraged graduates to remain curious, adaptable, and open to continuous learning, especially in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, quantum computing, and advanced technologies. He emphasized the importance of preparing the mind for change, experimenting with new ideas like prototypes in engineering, and viewing career paths as evolving journeys. He concluded by motivating the graduates to embrace opportunities with confidence and optimism while contributing meaningfully to society.

Distribution of Medals and Degree Certificates

One of the most memorable moments of the ceremony was the distribution of medals and degree certificates. Gold medallists and graduates from various departments including MBA, EEE, ECE, CSE, IT, ICE, Mechanical, Civil, Biomedical Engineering, Mechatronics, Architecture, and Allied Health Sciences were honoured for their academic excellence.

Faculty members and department heads read out the names of the graduating students as they proudly received their degrees.

Pledge by Graduates

The graduates took the Graduation Pledge, affirming their commitment to uphold ethical values, professional integrity, and responsibility towards society.

Gratitude Note


The Gratitude Note was delivered by Dr. S. Jayakumar, Controller of Examinations, who expressed sincere thanks to all the dignitaries, management members, faculty, parents, and graduates for their presence and support in making the 21st Graduation Day Ceremony a grand success. Dissolution of the Ceremony
