Introduction
The IEEE International Conference on Emerging Technologies in Engineering Applications (ICETEA 2026) was successfully organized on May 14, 2026, at Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College. Registration
The inaugural ceremony commenced with the registration of participants, researchers, academicians, industry experts, faculty members, and students. The registration session created an interactive environment for delegates from various institutions and organizations to connect and engage before the formal proceedings of the conference.
Tamil Thai Vazhthu and SMVEC Anthem
The event began the respectful rendition of Tamil Thai Vazhthu, creating a traditional and dignified atmosphere for the event. This was followed by the SMVEC Anthem, which filled the auditorium with pride and enthusiasm. The performances reflected the rich cultural heritage, values, vision, and achievements of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College, setting an auspicious and inspiring tone for the conference proceedings.
Welcome Dance
The inaugural function continued with a vibrant welcome dance performed by the students of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The graceful performance added energy and elegance to the ceremony and warmly welcomed all the dignitaries and participants.
Lighting of Kuthuvilakku
The dignitaries participated in the traditional Lighting of the Kuthuvilakku ceremony, symbolizing wisdom, knowledge, and enlightenment. The ceremony marked the formal inauguration of ICETEA 2026 in a grand and meaningful manner
Welcome Address
Dr. V. S. K. Venkatachalapathy, Director-cum-Principal of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College, warmly welcomed the dignitaries, researchers, academicians, faculty members, participants, and students to ICETEA 2026. He highlighted the conference as a platform for innovation, research collaboration, and knowledge sharing in emerging technologies. He also appreciated the support of the management, organizing committee, and participants towards the successful conduct of the conference. He proudly shared that the conference received an overwhelming response from researchers across India and abroad.

About the Conference
During the “About the Conference” session, Dr. S. Anbumalar, Dean – Academics of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College, highlighted that ICETEA 2026 serves as an international platform for researchers, academicians, and industry experts to exchange innovative ideas and research in emerging technologies. She explained that the conference focused on various specialized tracks including communication systems, cloud computing, robotics, block chain, quantum computing, big data analytics, and electrical engineering applications. She also shared that the conference received 2,135 research paper submissions, out of which 214 papers were selected after a rigorous peer-review process.
Release of Proceedings
The conference proceedings of ICETEA 2026 were officially released by the Chief Guest and received by the Treasurer, marking a significant milestone of the conference and highlighting the scholarly contributions presented during the event.
Felicitation Address
During the Felicitation Address, Shri. D. Rajarajan Treasurer, SMVET, emphasized that the present era is witnessing rapid technological transformation driven by Artificial Intelligence, automation, and emerging technologies. He highlighted the importance of adaptability, continuous learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and problem-solving in modern engineering. He encouraged students and researchers to focus on creating innovative solutions for real-world societal challenges and inspired them to remain curious, creative, and action-oriented in their learning journey.
Special Guest Address
During the Special Address, Dr. V. Nagarajan emphasized the importance of global collaboration, interdisciplinary research, and technology-driven innovation through IEEE conferences. He highlighted that engineering research should ultimately benefit society and transform innovative ideas into real-time applications.
