A Memorable Milestone in Academic Excellence

The 20th Graduation Day of Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College (SMVEC) was held with great enthusiasm and pride. The event celebrated the academic achievements of graduating students and marked an important milestone in their educational journey. Distinguished guests, management members, faculty, and proud graduates gathered to witness this prestigious occasion.
Assemblage of Dignitaries

The ceremony commenced with the assemblage of dignitaries in the Chairman’s Chamber. The Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Special Guest, Management Members, Director cum Principal, Controller of Examinations, Deans, and Heads of Departments gathered together, dressed in academic robes, symbolizing the solemnity and tradition of the graduation ceremony.
Commencement of the Academic Procession


The formal Academic Procession began with dignitaries proceeding to the venue in a dignified order. The procession included Heads of Departments, Deans, Controller of Examinations, Director cum Principal, Special Guest, Guest of Honour, Management Members, and the Chief Guest. The procession reflected the rich academic traditions followed by the institution.
Lighting of Kuthuvilakku

The ceremony continued with the Lighting of the Kuthuvilakku, a traditional ritual symbolizing knowledge, wisdom, and enlightenment. This auspicious beginning set a positive and inspiring tone for the graduation celebration.
Invocation and Institutional Anthem

The ceremony continued with the invocation of Thamizh Thai Vazhthu, paying tribute to the spirit and cultural heritage of the Tamil language and land. This was followed by the SMVEC Anthem, proudly sung to reflect the institution’s vision, values, and commitment to academic excellence. The program then featured an Audio Visual (AV) presentation, showcasing the achievements, milestones, and memorable moments of the graduating batch and the institution.
Welcome Address and Annual Report

The Welcome Address and Annual Report were delivered by Dr. V. S. K. Venkatachalapathy, Director cum Principal, who warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, management members, dignitaries, faculty, parents, and the graduating students to the 20th Graduation Day celebration. In his address, he highlighted the institution’s academic achievements, research initiatives, placement records, and overall progress of the college. He also acknowledged the visionary leadership of the management and appreciated the efforts of faculty members in guiding the students. Addressing the graduates, he congratulated them on their success and encouraged them to face future challenges with confidence, innovation, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

The ceremony recognized the presence and contributions of the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Special Guest, Chairman and Managing Director, Treasurer, Joint Secretary, and Director cum Principal.
Declaration of Graduation Ceremony Open

The Chairman and Managing Director formally declared the 20th Graduation Day ceremony open, marking the official commencement of the graduation proceedings.
Felicitation Addresses

The Felicitation Address was delivered by Shri D. Rajarajan, Treasurer, SMVET, who warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, the Special Guest, and the dignitaries present. In his address, he congratulated the graduates and emphasized that a degree is only the gateway to a career, while continuous learning, skill development, and dedication shape true success. He highlighted the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies, encouraging students to adapt quickly, upgrade their skills, and make effective use of modern tools. He also stressed the importance of building strong professional networks and staying connected with the alumni community, motivating graduates to remain engaged with the institution and support each other in their future journeys.
Presidential Addresses

The Presidential Address was delivered by Shri M. Dhanasekaran, Chairman and Managing Director, SMVET, who congratulated the graduates and shared valuable insights about their future careers and personal growth. In his address, he highlighted the strong relationship between the institution and leading industries, noting that a significant number of alumni are working in reputed organizations and bringing pride to the institution. He also spoke about the remarkable growth of the educational trust, which now serves around 25,000 students with the support of nearly 6,000 staff members, making it an integral part of the community. Encouraging the graduates to set clear goals for the next five years, he advised them to step out of their comfort zones, think big, and strive for greater achievements in life.
Guest of Honour Address

The Guest of Honour Address was delivered by Dr. R. Sreedhar, who shared inspiring thoughts from his personal and professional journey. In his address, he emphasized the importance of confidence, perseverance, and courage in pursuing one’s dreams. He encouraged the graduates not to hesitate in exploring different opportunities and reminded them that career paths may change many times before finding true success. Drawing from his own experiences, he advised students to remain confident in their abilities, continue learning, and never fear failure. He concluded by motivating the graduates to believe in their potential and strive forward with determination to achieve their goals.
Graduation Day Address

The Graduation Day Address was delivered by Shri Alex Duraisamy, who congratulated the graduating students and shared valuable insights about the rapidly evolving professional world. He highlighted that graduates are entering a transformative era shaped by Artificial Intelligence, automation, and digital technologies. He encouraged students to adapt to these changes with curiosity and confidence. He emphasized the importance of continuous learning, problem-solving abilities, and interdisciplinary knowledge in building successful careers. He advised graduates to learn, unlearn, and relearn throughout their professional journey. He also reminded them to view AI as a powerful tool rather than a threat. Concluding his address, he motivated the graduates to move forward with confidence, curiosity, and strong character, creating a meaningful impact in society.
Distribution of Medals and Degree Certificates






One of the most anticipated moments of the ceremony was the distribution of Gold Medals and Degree Certificates. Outstanding students were recognized for their academic excellence. The names of graduates from various departments such as EEE, ECE, CSE, IT, ICE, Mechanical, Civil, Architecture, and School of Arts and Sciences were announced by their respective Heads of Departments.
Pledge by Graduates

The graduating students collectively took the Graduate’s Pledge, promising to uphold the values of integrity, professionalism, and dedication in their careers and personal lives.
Gratitude Note

The Gratitude Note was delivered by Dr. S. Jayakumar, Controller of Examinations, who expressed his sincere thanks to all the dignitaries, management members, faculty, parents, media representatives, and the graduates for their presence and support in making the 20th Graduation Day celebration a grand success. He conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, and other distinguished guests for accepting the invitation and gracing the occasion by distributing the medals and degree certificates. He also acknowledged the guidance and support of the management and concluded by wishing the graduates great success in their future endeavours.
Dissolution of the Graduation Ceremony

The Chairman and Managing Director officially declared the dissolution of the graduation ceremony, marking the formal closing of the event.
National Anthem

The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, where all the dignitaries, faculty members, graduates, and guests stood in respect, expressing their patriotism and unity.
Retiring of the Procession

Following the National Anthem, the Academic Procession retired in an orderly manner, marking the formal conclusion of the 20th Graduation Day ceremony. The dignitaries exited in the traditional order, bringing the memorable event to a graceful close.
