

Introduction
Department of Civil Engineering, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College (Autonomous), Madagadipet, Puducherry, organized a seminar titled “Ethics-Driven Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in Civil Engineering” by Er. S. Raja, Proprietor, in offline mode at the Seminar Hall, for two hours (11:00 AM to 01:00 PM). The programme aimed to encourage students to understand the importance of ethical practices, skill enhancement, and entrepreneurship in civil engineering.
WELCOME ADDRESS
The welcome address emphasized that civil engineering is a profession where knowledge must be supported by values, because engineering decisions have a direct and long-term impact on society.
It was highlighted that the purpose of the seminar is to strengthen three essential professional pillars: ethics, skill development, and entrepreneurship. Students were briefed that ethical conduct is critical to ensure safety, quality, and public trust.
Outcome
The seminar ensured the students’ contribution to ethical, skilled, and sustainable civil engineering practice. Key outcomes achieved through the seminar include:
