to conduct the lab classes for the first year students with a facility
to accommodate 32 students per batch. With the growth of the
department in size, the facility was doubled to 64 students per batch.
Each lab has 8 work tables with granite top to enable safe and clean
handling of chemicals and reagents. Each table is equipped with
spacious racks to store reagents and chemicals along with water faucets
and necessary electrical connections.
It is also equipped with instruments required for research work.
Students are allowed to carry out their minor projects with magnetic
stirrer, mechanical shaker, pHmeter, conductivity meter, potentiometer,
colorimeter, COD apparatus, visible spectro- photometer, etc.,

OBJECTIVES The objectives of laboratory sessions are to enable students to possess

  • The basic analytical and technical skills to work effectively in the various fields of engineering
  • The ability to perform qualitative measurements with an
understanding of the theory and use of contemporary chemical
instrumentation, interpret experimental results, perform calculations
on these results and draw reasonable, accurate conclusions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues of safety regulations,
ethics and societal issues in the use of chemicals in their laboratory
    work.

LANGUAGE LABORATORIES

INTRODUCTION

The Language lab has 120 systems with headphones, web cameras and it
provides the students with the technical tools to get the best samples
of pronunciation of the language. The electronic devices used in the
laboratory will stimulate the eyes and ears of the learner to acquire
the language quickly and easily.  The laboratorys collection is
designed to assist learners in the acquisition and maintenance of aural
comprehension, oral and written proficiency and cultural awareness.

It offers broadcasting, television programmes, web-assisted
materials and videotaped off-air recordings in the target
language.  In short, a learner can get the experience of having
interaction with native speakers through the laboratory.  Hence,
the language laboratory has become the need of the hour in any language
learning process for communication.

OBJECTIVES

  • To expose the students to a variety of self-instructional, learner-friendly modes of language learning.
  • To help the students cultivate the habit of reading passages from
the computer monitor, thus providing them with the required facility to
face computer-based competitive exams such GRE, TOEFL, GMAT etc.
  • To enable them to learn better pronunciation through stress on word accent, intonation and rhythm.
  • To train them to use language effectively to face interviews, group discussions and public speaking.
  • To initiate them into greater use of the computer in resume preparation, report writing, format-making etc.,

SCOPE

The Language Lab focuses on

  • The production and practice of sounds of language
  • To familiarize the students with the use of English ineveryday situations and contexts through Globarena Software

MATHEMATICS

INTRODUCTION

Mathematics is an integral part of the study of engineering
regardless of which branch of engineering is chosen. Faculty of
Mathematics has evolved and grown in several directions and offer
support to all the undergraduate and Post graduate Engineering
programs, Master of Computer Applications and Management studies. They
are committed to the cause of quality education in Mathematics that
forms the basis for all the programs.

Engineering has a wide range of interest in Mathematics including
Probability and Queuing theory, Probability and Random Process,
