Our EEE department III year students L.R.Ravindranath and Vinod Chikkala and has won Third prize in the event Jagruti’19’-Awake, Innovate And Lead is the 3rd version of the National Level Youth conference. The Conference covers issues of national and international importance from the perspective of young India. Commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and on national youth day, the Indian institute of science (IISC),Bengaluru hosted all INDIA youth conference ‘Jagruti’19’ the 3rd National Youth Conference on 12th& 13th January 2019 AT JN TATA AUDITORIUM, IISC which was inaugurated by Padmashri. Anna Hazare .The conference was organized by the students’ council, Indian Institute Of Science(IISc) and THINK INDIA.
The theme of the conference @jagruti’19’ is ‘sustainable rural habitat – returning to our roots’. The central idea of the conference is to reminisce Gandhi’s motive of gram swaraj and its congruity through the sustainable rural habitat. the conference was mainly to discuss the current situation, achievements, challenges, opportunities and advancements concerning rural India.
For this 3rd National Youth Conference more than 1000 papers had been cumulated from various states. These papers were uploaded by many Ph.D. scholars as well as students from IIT. Out of that 200 papers were short-listed. Among those 200 papers two of our papers were short-listed and got selected for the next phase which was held at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
Our students L.R.Ravindranath and Vinod Chikkala of Pre-final year and K.SenthamaraiKannan and D.Vasanthkumar of 2nd year from Electrical and Electronics Engineering had participated in the paper presentation. The meritorious work on “Ionic Movement Based Desalinator” done by L.R.Ravindranath and Vinod Chikkala and “AGRI IOT” done by K.SenthamaraiKannan and D.Vasanthkumar . The paper Ionic Movement Based Desalinator had won third place with cash prize of Rs10,000/- among those 200 shortlisted papers with heavy competition with the co-participants who were Ph.D. scholars of IISc and Various IIT’s all over India.
This paper made a huge impact with the Scientists and Collogues of the IISc. They had made a good interaction with them and they had also promised to help them to complete their project by providing R&D Electrochemical laboratories and availing with funds. They were also able to get personal contacts with the top scientist of India.
Eventually both the teams were felicitated by the college Chairman Shri M.Dhanasekaran, Vice Chairman Shri S.V.Sugumaran, Secretary Dr.K.Narayanaswamy, Director cum Principal Dr.V.S.KVenkatachalapathy, Head of the Department Dr.S.Anbumalar and the faculties belonging to the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
