Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Awards, 2018

SRISTI (Society for Research and Initiatives for Sustainable Technologies and Institutions) has established three national awards (GYTI awards) for innovative student projects in engineering, biotechnology, agriculture, pharmacy, material science and other applied technological domains. These awards are given every year during the Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FINE), Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi in the month of March.

Our, Sri Manakula vinayagar Engineering college ,Madagadipet, 2nd year EEE students, L.R.Ravindranath, S.Abilashvaran, S.Aravindh and M.Logesh under the guidance of Dr.S.Anbumalar, Professor and Head /EEE, from the department of electrical and electronics engineering, submitted an innovative project for the GYTI 2018 award and they have received “Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award”, 2018 on 19.3.2018 in the FINE festival at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi from our president Ramnath Govind and Mr.Harsha vardhan, Minister for Science and Technology and earth sciences. They will also receive a fund of Rs.1 lakh from the department of science and technology, New delhi, for the model development.

Totally,44 projects were selected from the 17000 projects submitted by other colleges for this award and they will receive financial aid from the ministry of department of science and technology. Our SMVEC team is one among the 44 projects awarded.Most of the awardees in that list are the research scholars from IITs.Among them,our SMVEC second year students achivement was very much appreciated by every one.

Our SMVEC chairman and Managing Director Shri.M.Dhanasekaran, Vice-chairman Shri.S.V.Sugumaran,M.L.A, Secretary DR.K.Narayanasamy, Director cum Principal Dr.V.S.K.Venkatachalapathy congratulated the awardees for their great achievement and Mr.S.Thangaraj,AP/EEE and Mr.R.Ragupathy,AP/EEE who have coordinated the students throughout.
